The United States International Development Finance Corporation is a development finance institution and agency of the United States federal government. DFC invests in development projects primarily in lower and middle-income countries.

2. Does the project or business comply with DFC’s environmental and social standards?
3. Does the project or business generate development outcomes aligned with the agency’s priorities and/or advance U.S. foreign policy goals?
4. Does the investor or business have a successful track record in the industry?
5. Has the investor or business sought financing from private lenders?
